| It's been real, it's been fun. But it hasn't been real fun.
Last post fot a while. Bye.
| I am so effing sick of people being hypocrites. Don't worry about how much someone goes to church simply because you see yourself as being morally superior to them based on the notion that church attendance equals Christianity. Never mind the fact that your own morals don't match what you say they are, LAY THE CRAP OFF!
To quote scripture: "Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?" Matthew 7:4. Translation: none of us are perfect. So before you go criticizing people for what they do, take a good long look in the mirror.
| Please ignore the current heat wave. It has nothing to do with global warming as there is no such thing as global warming. Please continue to use as much carbon fuels as possible. | | |
| Well, here it is, folks. Been planning this trip for quite some time and it's finally here. This time tomorrow, I'll be buzzing my way down to South Africa. Then to Swaziland for two weeks to work at the Raliegh Fitkin Memorial Hospital helping out where and when I can with the AIDS pandemic as part of the Work and Witness trip I'll be on with my church.
Wow. I can't believe I'm actually going to Africa. Like... whoa. The plane ride to Johannesburg is 18 hours. Whoa. The van ride from there to Swaziland is five hours. Eh, not bad. I'm comforted to know that the Church of the Nazarene (my denomination) has been in Swaziland for about 100 years, so we'll be treated well and won't be looked at as simple tourists or stupid Americans who are trying ever so desperatley to look more cultured. They know and love Nazarenes there. I've been told the Nazarene presence there is enormous. That's nice. Also the primary language is English. Basically no language barrier. Also nice.
Well, wish me luck. I'll miss home. But this experience will be eye-opening to say the least. I love you all and I'll try not to antagonize any lions while I'm over there. You know they don't like me anyways.
And yes Kyle, it is BLESS the rains. Sterns was wrong.
| Some stuff that's pretty cool for me right now:
- Leaving for Africa in a couple days. Whoa. See big blog later for details. - Barenaked Ladies. Not totally nude females. The band from Canada. Like... whoa. Give me everything by them ever. They're awesome. - My girlfriend's pretty cool. - The World Cup. Even though USA is out of it and never really had a chance, I'm really having a good time watching the action. This weekend's Germany-Argentina match will be one for the ages. You watch. But Brazil is probably going to win it all. Here's the final four: Argentina vs Italy and England vs Brazil. Expect an all South American final with Brazil coming out on top by 2. Congrats Brazil on your 2nd straight World Cup and like 423rd overall.
That's all. | | |
